Goddess of Mercy festival

Thousands of people flocked to Ngu Hanh Son   Thousands of people flocked to Danang City’s Ngu Hanh Son, to take part in the Goddess of Mercy Festival, which opened on March 11. The festival is considered one of Vietnam’s15 most special cultural events. The ceremony was held in the foothills of Thuy Son Mountain, where the Goddess of Mercy Pagoda is located. According to legend, a block of stalactite resembling Goddess of Mercy was found there.

The US well-known street fashion, Free People, has chosen Vietnam as its destination to take “look book” photographs for its March publication. On its website, Free People described Vietnam as an interesting nation – a mix of bustling and modern cities and peaceful villages. Free People’s photographers experienced life during their long journey from Hanoi to Ha Long, Sapa and Hoi An. Ha Long Bay, with its unique beauty of caves, stone islands and particularly attractive landscape and pleasant atmosphere, was the second destination where they took pictures of Vong Vieng fishing village and floating market from anther angle of vision.

Tourism Ambassador rides elephant to advertise Central Highlands

Actress and businesswoman Ly Nha Ky, Vietnam’s Tourism Ambassador, sits on a 10-year-old elephant to discover the natural beauty of the Central Highlands. She said that she was a little afraid to sit on the big elephant of the Don Village (the most famous village in Vietnam for taming elephants), but the elephant was very friendly so she felt very interesting after several minutes.

Seven new caves discovered in Phong Nha Ke Bang

Son Doong cave in Phong Nha Ke Bang national park The British Cave Research Association led by Howard Limbert has found 7 new caves in the central province of Quang Binh’s Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park where the biggest cave in the world is already situated. The information was provided by Ho Khanh, a local cave explorer. Ho Khanh, who first discovered Son Doong Cave – the biggest cave in the world as recognized by National Geographic, joined British experts in exploring new caves during a one-week trip.
